The game started as well as it finished for Freightlink after Makelesi Toga ran a superb line to charge through a gaping hole.
Toga then showed her pace to sprint the distance and score the first try of the game.
It didn’t take long before Griffith Laundry Service hit back to level the scores.
Griffith Laundry Service then used the momentum it had gained to hit the front.
A quick play the ball close to the line allowed Lea Salvestro dive over and score.
The lead was then doubled when Vicki Romeo scored for Griffith Laundry Service and Freightlink trailed 3-1 at the break.
The half-time interval worked wonders for Freightlink as the side rocketed back into the game.
The side’s first try for the second half came on the back of a Roslyn Simpson run.
Simpson was given an inch of space and used it to her advantage.
She was able to draw the outside defender and send Makelie Crowe on her merry way to the tryline.
Next it was Niumai Serukabivata who produced some magic of her own.
Freightlink’s last tackle play looked to be going nowhere before Serukabivata skipped out of a defender’s reach and darted through the gap to score.
Not to be outdone, Griffith Laundry Service’s Kacie Tagliapetra received the ball close to the line before throwing a dummy to cross and hand her team a one-point buffer.
A Teneeka Carr try levelled the scores shortly after before a touchdown just before the buzzer to Freightlink sealed the win.
In the other women’s division 1/2 matches, Snow’s Excavations scored a 10-4 win over East Griffith Caremore Pharmacy while Stomp beat DQ Electrical/Lakesview Citrus 9-3.
