The departure of Temora, Cootamundra and Young saw first grade teams drop from 11 to eight in 2016, but going off a relatively speedy meeting on Sunday the changes have been well received.
SIRU rugby manager Mick McTaggart said there were no big issues brought up by the clubs.
One of the biggest talking points was the battle for presidency.
David Adamson survived a challenge from Jim Kimball to retain his role.
After winning a tight vote, Adamson will head into his fifth season in the position.
Carl King was unchallenged as senior rugby vice-president as was Linden Gunn in the junior role.
Marty Hogan, Harriet Elleman, Warwick Grant and Mark Harris were all re-elected to the board.
The clubs agreed to a constitution change which saw the number of board members drop to four, down from six.
Both Ian Chapman and Matt Turnbull did not stand for re-election.
Richard Skellern was announced as the representative coach, however the program is still up in the air.
Brumbies development officer Seth Stoltenberg said the competition was still waiting for more feedback about the structure of this season’s program.
Griffith brought up the possibly of expanding women’s rugby to a 10-a-side competition.
It was decided the status quo of the current sevens program will remain, however games can be played with 10 if both teams agree.
“We agreed the competition would remain at seven, but teams playing each other on the day with the numbers who were both in agreeance can play 10 during the regular season,” Stoltenberg said.
“Our finals and grand final will remain 7-a-side in our women’s competition.”
SIRU recorded a minor increase in profit from last season.
The Brumbies in the Bush dinner was one of the biggest money spinners, with all proceeds being directed towards the upgrade of Conolly Rugby Complex.
A draft draw was released to the clubs with McTaggart hoping to have the draw for first and second grade released before Christmas.
The season will start on April 8, the weekend before Easter, with the grand final to be played on August 26.
