The man was charged with using a carriage service to menace, harass and offend after he sent a series of messages to his mother, threatening his ex-partner following their relationship break down.
The victim had moved out of the couple’s home on Thursday, October 6 while the man was at work.
When she went to work at a Banna Avenue restaurant that night he called and drove past the restaurant several times.
At 6.45pm the man texted his mother and said “I just changed all the locks on the house and I will shoot her that’s a promise.”
A minute later he again texted his mother saying “I will be waiting for her to knock off when she is walking to her car I’m going to pop one in the back of her head,” the message was accompanied by a photo of three firearms on the floor.
As a result the man’s parents warned the victim and police patrolling Banna Avenue arrested him outside the restaurant.
The man received a conditional release after his conviction, subject to a three year good behaviour bond and a $200 fine.
