These two organisations joined forces to buy three additional shade sales for the park, and buying in bulk proved more economical.
Rotary Avanti’s Past President, Rene Brummer, started the ball rolling last year and President, Sue Reynold, finalised details with council this year, giving $17,600 from Rotary.
Council contributed $8800. Griffith Mayor John Dal Broi joined some members from Rotary Avanti last Thursday morning for the unveiling of the shaded areas.
City Park has been listed in the top 10 playgrounds in NSW, with the tallest climbing frame in the Southern Hemisphere, a splash pad area and a flying fox.
