The peak has past the Willandra Weir and will be hitting the town on Friday, October 28 at a height 3.1 metres.
Properties down stream of the Weir have also been warned of possible isolation and minor flooding.
Parts of Hillston remain under evacuation warning affecting around 17 properties due to technical concerns about the levee around those properties.
The State Emergency Service have been proactive and have some highly skilled staff stationed in Hillston if the need for flood rescue arose.
At the moment the major road closure are the Lachlan Valley Way from the Kidman Way until Lake Cargelligo. The Kidman Way from Hillston to Cobar remains closed to light vehicles while a warning for water over the road along the Midwestern Highway near the Mirrool Creek.
