The Coro Cougar had his eye on the captaincy last year but was happy to wait his turn.
The selectors have chosen a side with plenty of experience – something that Pascoe thought would make his job a lot easier.
“I’ve got a pretty good, experienced side to take over to Leeton,” Pascoe said.

“A lot of them have been there and done it before so they know what to do.”
Amongst the seasoned campaigners, there are a few fresh faces.
None more so than Mitchell Williams-Hedges who has joined the Coro Cougars after moving to town from Nyngan.
Despite returning figures of 0-38 from eight overs in his only game for Coro this year, Pascoe said the quick deserved his spot.
“I was looking for a strike bowler and I liked what I saw last week,” Pascoe said.
“He bowled really well. It was his first game for a while and hopefully he can improve as well.
“He’s pretty sharp, he’ll have them on their toes and he’s good to have there in the absence of Floody [Alex Flood].
“I reckon he’ll handle it well.”
The side went through a couple changes during the week due to player availability.
Charlie Cunial was brought into the side after his good form for Hanwood and Scott Smith was also called up.
Griffith and Leeton fought out plenty of games last year in several different formats.
However, it was Griffith who won the opening Country Plate match last season as Mark Burns clinched the game for Griffith with a quickfire 31 not out.
