Boon stumps Healy in Junior Bradman

GRIFFITH Junior cricket started last Saturday morning and Boon found its stride early on thanks to Alex Robinson.

Boon scored an impressive 2-99 (avg 49.5) to overwhelm Healy who made 9-111 (avg 12.3). Alex top-scored for Boon with 24 and was well supported by Dean Casey with 15, Tom Bartter 17 and Jacob Witherspoon 19.

While Jacob Rand and Brendon Serafin were the stand-outs with the ball for Healy in both taking a wicket.

Kolby Seers with 17 runs and Oscar Nolan 15 runs were the best of the Healy batsmen while Henry Lacey bowled well to pick up three wickets for Boon and Oliver Bartter chipped in with two.

Lillee received a good win over Chappell after scoring 4-95 while Jack Mingay top-scored with 15 and Mason Donadel added 13 while Judd Stevenson, Connor Dal Broi, Charlotte Currie and Lilly Delves all picked up a wicket for Chappell.

Chappell replied with 13-95 with Judd Stevenson leading the way with 20 runs and Callum Weppler added a handy 13 runs.

Mason Donadel did the best with the ball capturing three wickets while Ethan Andreazza and Alex De Bortoli also bowled well.

Bowlers were on top in the game between Thompson, who made 9-92 (avg 10.2) and Marsh 9-76 (avg 8.4).

Jayden Quinn stood out in Thompson's innings with 22 runs and Ben Signor and Charlie Jones led the wicket takers with two wickets each.

Marsh's top batsman was Thomas Scott who made 15 and Sam Payne contributed 14 and Rhys Carnell made 11 with an amazing six run-outs in the Marsh innings.

Thompson's best bowlers were James Cheers, Sam Irvin and Michael Cudmore.

Walters batsmen did some big hitting to reach 4-137 against Pascoe who did well to make 6-111 with Kyle Bennett playing a good innings to reach 24, Harry Rowston did well to make 21 and Colt Jackson added 18.

Hayden Forner and Luca Forner showed form with the best for Pascoe, Hayden showed some all-round ability to make 17 runs, Luca Vecchio chipped in with 15 and Patrick Starr did well for 10 runs. Kyle Bennett and Colt Jackson both bowled well to pick up two wickets each.

The cricketer of the round award will again be announced each week and this week's award goes to Kyle Bennett for his 24 runs and two wickets for Walters.

With Exies No. 1 out of action all Junior Bradman games were moved to Exies No. 2 and will continue at that venue until the former is ready to play on.
