In an effort to raise money for Needy Paws, India Hyde and Elsie Barton taught themselves how to make balloon animals and sold them throughout their neighbourhood.
After raising $159, the girls purchased seven bags of dog food from Griffith Feed and Grain, in recognition of their work the girls were given a substantial discount.
"It really means a lot to us that two little girls, who are so young thought about Needy Paws and the dogs we save from the pound,” Mr Rebetzke said.
"It’s going a long way, it is being distributed among all the carers who care for and feed the dogs."
