The pair were elected unopposed at Wednesday night’s meeting after no other nominations were received. Both have been elected for a two-year term. In previous years an election was held every 12 months.
Cr Maytom said it was a role he continued to be passionate about.
“I have been doing it for some time now, but I do believe I have the skills and drive to get the results our community wants,” he said.
“It’s certainly not a role I feel entitled to, but I’m glad to be able to represent as the mayor once again. I’m pleased councillors and the community continue to have faith in me.”
Wednesday night’s meeting was also the first since the recent local government election.
