First-up, Three Ways United will take on one of the home sides, Redfern All Blacks Two.
“They are made up of some ex-NRL players from back in the day,” Thorne said.
“They’ve still got a lot to offer on the field especially with the games being shorter.
“We’re under no false pretences.”
Three Ways United Two had no such luck with the draw.
The side takes on Waterloo Storm in the first round and share the pool last year’s runner-up Newcastle All Blacks.
In the under 17s competition, Frogs Hollow Yindyamarra have drawn Original Boomerangs United for the first round fixture.
Along with the seniors and under 17s, there will be under 12s, under 15s and women’s competitions played across the long weekend at the knockout in Leichardt.
