After marking more than 100 birthdays in his life, Mr Zanatta didn't want a big celebration and said the simple things in life are far more important.
"I have already had a few birthdays so there was no need for anything special, all I needed was my family," Mr Zanatta said.
"It was a good day, It was good to see all my family, some even came from out of town."
More than 30 family members including his wife of more than 76-years, Elsa and the couple’s children Ray Zanatta and Renee Johnston helped celebrate the birthday.
Mr Zanatta said he didn’t know the secret to living so long but said he knew the secret to a good and happy life.
“There is no use complaining or arguing, you need to be good and kind and enjoy life. If you be good then good things will happen,” he said.
“It has worked for me, I have had a pretty good life and I am 102.”
