River levels have dropped at Wagga, Narrandera, Darlington Point and Griffith but a second peak is expected to hit towns downstream of Wagga early this week.
There is between 20 and 30mm of rain predicted for Thursday and a further 10mm on Friday.
The second peak of 6.4m at Darlington Point and 7.9m at Hay is expected to reach the towns in early October.
