Last week, captain Gavin Raccanello from Yenda Fire Station and captain Neal Tait from Narrandera Fire Station completed the final stage of the Captains Development Leadership Program.
FRNSW developed the course with the Australian Institute of Police Management and participants complete the course in three phases over two-years.
Mr Raccanello said the training allows participants to be the best leaders for their stations, which benefits younger staff and the stations future leaders.
“It gave me the tools and techniques needed to make changes and embrace opportunities in a changing environment,” Mr Raccanello said.
“Each of the phases concentrated on three key areas being leading themselves, leading their teams and leadership in an organisational context.”
