The Colour Me Crazy fun day was a resounding fun filled success and we are grateful to Michelle for her vision and her dedication to making a difference, not only to our group but to our community as a whole.
We would like to thank all the participants for making the day such a success and many thanks to Beyond Bank and all other sponsors for their generosity on Sunday.
Suicide is something that has touched many of us in this community. It is a difficult subject to talk about, understand and come to terms with.
The Griffith Suicide Prevention and Support Group volunteer work tirelessly to provide a 24 hour telephone counseling service not only to the Griffith Community but to callers Australia wide. Thank you Griffith for being colourful and crazy!

No surprises in debate
It is not surprising to know that half of the Australia would like to ban Muslim migration. We live in a world today that is very much influenced by media coverage. We base our opinions on what we are shown.
The media is constantly putting Islam down, and instead of showing the good things of this faith, the media only shows the bad: the terror, the horror.
This is what makes their headlines, and stories.
It is unfortunate that radical Muslims and terrorists get more coverage in the media than those hundreds of millions of Muslim men and women who serve humanity as doctors, scientists, charity workers, social workers, human right activists or lawyers.
Images, texts, headlines and news can just as easily present a false notion as they can present facts.
There are so many things that people do not know about, and so many negative and incorrect assumptions are made about Muslims.
It is our job to clear up the misconceptions and false accusations against Islam. I urge Muslims to get out of their comfort zone and demystify our peaceful religion and beliefs.

Selective level of care
Premier Mike Baird proclaims he is an animal lover and is concerned about their welfare.
However, it appears he is a bit selective as to which animals that he actually loves? On one hand, his recent actions indicate he apparently has a strong dislike for greyhounds.
While on the other hand, he obviously loves and adores cats.
This is indicated by recently increasing his “fat cat” mates’ pay packets by more than 20 per cent. I think that everyone would agree that it’s about time for Mike to show a little bit more consistency. If he is genuinely concerned with the animal welfare issue, then he must treat all animals equally .
