ASK a preschooler who Vincent van Gogh is and you can expect to get a blank look.
However, the kids at Griffith East Preschool are not your average tots.
Their early appreciation comes from an ongoing project at the school where the pint-sized Piccasos have been examining different types of art.
Griffith East Preschool director Suzy Tucker said the end result was an impressive art exhibition, with more than 200 pieces on show at Griffith Central.
"It has been a whole learning process for them," Ms Tucker said.
"We have exposed them to as much as possible.
"We've had different books and artwork on the walls and they have all been enthusiastic and are now more aware.
"This has given them the confidence to realise that you can do what you like and it will be accepted. You can see the potential of some of the kids already and the ones who weren't into it have developed skills.
"It's broadened everyone's outlook on the world."
The exhibition, featuring a vast array of artworks from abstracts to portraits, using various media, was opened last Friday by local artist Jenny Forster.
Shoppers can expect to see the preschoolers in Griffith Central throughout the week witnessing their handiwork on display.
The works will hang for the rest of the week and following the show will be purchased by proud parents.
