THE Yenda Prods Young Guns lived up to their moniker to claim their second win of the Griffith Touch Football season, after crusing to a comfortable 6-2 win against Country First at Ted Scobie Oval.
Young Guns were looking to bounce back from its narrow women's division 1/2 loss to Emeri Pink the week before, while Country First were looking to build on its solid result against Rinaland.
However, it was the Young Guns that set the standard early in what was a tight first half, with Madeline Lyons opening Young Guns' account, before Country First replied soon after.
But Young Guns put their noses in front at the break, thanks to a sensational diving effort from Zoe Whitworth to score in the corner.
Whitworth doubled her personal tally for the game after the resumption as she show blinding speed to break open the Country First defence.
Arieta Laweloa look set to put the result back on the table for Country First, before being tagged by desperate Young Guns' defence.
The decisive touchdown was then logged by Whitworth, in what secured her hat-trick, as she made the opposition look like they were standing still, as Young Guns went on to secure the deserved win.
