Griffith police nab eight drug drivers in three days

Officers from the Griffith Local Area Command ramped up their drug testing after new equipment was installed at the Griffith and Narrandera police stations recently.
A number of drivers had their licence suspended for 24 hours after they returned a positive drug test.
Among the drivers who returned a positive result were:
- A 37-year-old man who was stopped by police in Banna Avenue at 9.45pm on Friday
- A 42-year-old man who was stopped in Griffith Avenue at 12.30am on Saturday
- A 26-year-old man who was stopped by police in McCudden Street at 7.20pm on Saturday
- An 18-year-old man who was stopped in Noorla Street at 12.30am on Sunday
- A 34-year-old woman who was stopped in Murrumbidgee Avenue at 8.50am on Sunday
- A 21-year-old man who was stopped in Wakaden Street about 1.15pm on Sunday
- A 41-year-old woman who was stopped in Kooringal Avenue about 5.50pm on Sunday. The woman was also suspended from driving and has been issued a Court Attendance Notice regarding this offence
- A 23-year-old man who was stopped in Gardiner Road in Yoogali at 4.20pm on Sunday
Inspector Kim Traynor reminded Griffith and district residents about the Dob in a Dealer campaign which runs until September 4.
