“We didn’t play to our standards and we're just going to leave it in last week,” Dumbrell said of the TLU match.
The Hawks went back to basics at training this week.
“We need to get back to playing as we normally do,” Dumbrell said.
“Back to playing the right offensive structure and not panicking, so just getting the simple things right.”
Last time the teams met, the Hawks registered a convincing 42-0 win but Dumbrell won’t be counting on that match to get his side through Sunday.
“Absolutely not, every game is different,” Dumbrell said.
“I’m sure they’re going to be looking to correct their effort from last time. This game will be a the big one – the last two games we played doesn't count at all.”
Leeton Greens coach Brent Pike said his team had plenty of strengths coming into the game despite their loss to West Wyalong last weekend.
“The last couple of weeks we have actually done well in our defence,” he said.
“If we can get our defence up, that will be good. We have some pretty good backs.
“We will have to watch out for young Dumbrell, he’s a class player in form at the moment and I think he will be one to watch and stop.”
Pike said the team would be focused on maintaining its good level of defence at training as well as on improving their forward line.
He said his team wouldn’t be letting Yanco’s home ground advantage get the better of them.
“It’s going to be pretty good, we don’t have to travel so that will be the best thing,” he said.
With the end of the season drawing near for all clubs, Pike said he had been pleased with the performances his boys had given.
“I’m very happy with them,” he said.
“There are a lot of young fellas and a lot of them could be playing 18s, but they have come back to the club.
“We are really happy we finished in the top five and to finish third after finishing last the last couple of years is great.
“The boys have really dug deep and more credit to them.”
The qualifying final will be held Sunday, August 28 commencing at 2.40pm.
