As the Swans prepare for their first final in a decade, more than half of the team have been grounded with the flu.
If last Saturday’s 125-point loss to Wagga Tigers was not bad enough, only nine players were able to train at their first session this week due to the flu.
“Three quarters of the team have gone down, plus myself and a couple of the support staff,” Griffith director of coaching Adrian Pavese said.
“It’s not the best preparation.”
Griffith will meet an in-form Collingullie-Glenfield Park in Sunday’s elimination final at Ganmain.
Pavese said the Swans go in pressure-free.
“The boys are thrilled that we set the goal to return to finals and achieved that,” he said.
“It lets us hit finals with no pressure and with nothing to lose.”
Griffith lose Michael Johns to a back injury.
