“The new Animal Handling Facility is going to be a fantastic asset for the Griffith community, one which we can all be proud of,” council’s manager of executive services Shireen Donaldson said.
“We would like to get community members to become involved and have devised a competition whereby you can help us find a fitting name. This is a community facility, and we want community feedback – after all, you have helped us get this far.” The new facility will provide more amenities for incoming animals with heating and cooling, an opening function will be held when the facility has been completed with the winning name being revealed on the day.
Entries close 4pm Friday, September 9 and can be emailed to admin@griffith.nsw.gov.au - contact details should be included.
“Council officers are proactive in finding homes or rescue for the cats and dogs who find themselves at the facility,” Mrs Donaldson said.
