CORO Cougars notched up their second win for the Griffith Cricket season, after cruising to a 63-run win against Leagues Club Panthers at West End Oval on Saturday.
The win was set up largely thanks to brothers Rob and Tim Rand, who scored 52 and 40 respectively for the Cougars as they reached 196, with Leagues' wayward bowling also padding the score of Coro with 34.
Kieron Williams was the best with the ball for Panthers, in securing 2-28 off seven overs with Dan Peruzzi (2-41) also shining.
In their run chase, the Panthers looked a big chance of causing the upset as Peruzzi and Campbell Jeremy compiled a first-wicket partnership of 68 with each scoring 27.
Williams continued his excellent day in scoring 36, before he fell to form bowler Alex Flood (3-29 off 10).
From there the wheels fell off the Leagues' run chase as the returning Glenn Cox and Flood cut a path through the Leagues' lower order to see it bowled out for 133.
