A 31-year-old man has been charged by police following a violent incident with a machete in Griffith on Saturday morning.
At about 10.30am on October 20 police responded to a number of calls from residents on Heath Crescent where a man had armed himself with a machete and a broken bottle.
The 31-year-old Griffith man had allegedly lunged at a 26-year-old Griffith man known to the offender, causing minor lacerations to the throat and chest area.
He was arrested and charged with armed with intent to commit an indictable offence, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and assault.
He was bailed to appear in Griffith Local Court on 28 November 2012.
Police are attempting to identify the cause of the incident and further enquiries are being conducted with a possibility of further arrests.
