Griffith City sit three points behind Leeton on the Griffith District Football Association first grade ladder.
With two rounds to go, a loss would knock them out of the running.
Leeton United assistant coach Joe Trifogli also labelled the game as a “must win” for his side.
Should victory not come to Leeton, they will face an almighty battle against Hanwood FC in the final round of the competition.
“We don’t want to get ourselves in that position,” Trifogli said.
“If we can lock it in this weekend, that really takes the pressure off.
“Then, come finals, it’s a different ball game all together.
“We have the faith in our team.”
Last weekend United recorded a 1-all draw with West Griffith at No. 2 Oval and Trifogli said it was a good turnaround from the Leeton United players.
“After we lost the week before that and we really gave the boys a talking to, they responded,” Trifogli said.
“It was good to see.
“Myself and (coach) Mick (Doolin) called on them to bounce back and they did.
“It was disappointing not to get the result, but I thought we played a lot better.”
