Despite taking on a Ganmain-Grong Grong-Matong outfit – at the Exies Oval on Sunday – led by a red hot James Lawton, the Griffith Swans will focus on their own game as they try to return to the winner’s circle.

On the back of two straight losses, Swans director of coaching Adrian Pavese has plenty on his mind but Lawton is hard to ignore.
The key forward took his goal-scoring tally for the year to 47 last week with an eight-goal haul – his third for the year – against Coolamon.
Last time the teams met, Lawton wasn’t able to post a goal but Pavese said that was due to GGGM forced to fill in gaps.
“Last game they moved him around a little bit,” Pavese said.
“[Lawton not scoring] was due to that and not us so much.
“He’ll be important for them and we’ll go in with a plan but we won’t be focusing too much on it.
We need to dig ourselves out of this rut and we’re more focused on our game.

“We need to dig ourselves out of this rut and we’re more focused on our game.
Despite the recent losses, the Swans are still bringing an abundance of enthusiasm onto the field each week.
Pavese said every single one of the players were trying their darnedest to turn things around.
“I have to pay tribute to the boys, we had 45 players plus on the track on Tuesday,” Pavese said.
“Even though we might no be playing well the boys are staying strong.
“It’s a credit to them. They could be sitting in the corner sulking but instead they're all committed to fix things and get better.”
Pavese was going to shake things up to help the Swans find their groove.
“We’ll try and rejuvenate a few players by giving them a few different challenges,” Pavese said.
“Some of the guys will be put in different positions.
“We’ve been pretty settled but some guys will play in positions they’ve played in before but maybe not ones they’ve played in this year.”
On the injury front, Mick Duncan and Alex Blissett will return to the side. The pair were late scratchings from last week’s game but both have trained this week and should be right for Sunday.
