“Griffith Base were so good to Dad and the entire Napoli family really appreciated the care they gave to him and we really wanted to give back to them and thank them for that,” Anne Napoli said.
“Instead of flowers when he passed away, we accepted donations to the Griffith Base Hospital and dementia research.”
Griffith Base Hospital have used the money raised by the Napoli family to purchase a much needed pressure relieving air mattress.
“The mattress is used for people who are in palliative care or who have pressure ulcers or wounds and it’s basically a pressure relieving device to make them more comfortable,” medical nursing unit manager Janet Vlasic explained.
“It individualises to the weight of the person and patients say to us that it really does make them more comfortable and gives them more relief.
“We want to thank the Napoli family so much for what they have done, it is very much appreciated and is something that will be used widely.”
