Easts had the better winning record and started favourites but that didn’t stop the Galahs from bringing their A game.
After two tense halves, the sides couldn’t be split with the game ending in a 2-all draw.
The other men’s match saw Leeton defeat Bob Jane to move into third position on the ladder as four teams fight for the remaining three spots in the top four.
In the women’s division, the top two teams registered wins.
The competition’s leader Griffith Retirement Estate (GRE) secured a 6-2 win against Victoria Hotel and Easts Flavourtech won its game against Pinnacle, 2-0.
GRE hold a slender one point lead over Easts and the sides will meet on August 6 in a game that will most likely decide who claims the minor premiership.
There will be a general bye this Saturday in the Griffith Hockey Association competitions due to women's vets being on this weekend.
