The West Wyalong Mallee Men have moved within two points of the top five following a comfortable 42-12 win over the Yenda Blueheelers on Sunday at Wade Park.

Like other games around Griffith, Yenda and West Wyalong had to deal with a heavy wind.
West Wyalong coped with it best and held a lead at half-time despite running against it.
“I thought we dominated most of the game,” West Wyalong co-coach Mark Wood said.
“There was a massive wind there and we were up by 10 points at half-time.
”We were happy to go into half-time with any sort of lead after contending with that wind.”
The victory was West Wyalong’s fourth in five games and continues the Mallee Men’s strong defensive efforts in recent weeks.
“Our defence was good again which we were happy with,” Wood said.
“That’s what we’ve wanted to get right these past few weeks.
“In saying that we were still a bit careless with the ball.”
The win puts West Wyalong on 15 points whilst the fifth-placed Black and Whites sit on 17 points.
The Mallee Men also pulled clear of the Waratahs who remain on 13 points.
Yenda are on nine points and out of finals contention following the loss.
