“Yoogali FC put on a young side and they really did themselves proud and really stuck it to us and probably in the end almost deserved the draw,” Yoogali SC captain-coach Luke Santolin said.
“We didn’t finish our chances which I guess added a little bit of pressure.”
Mr Santolin said it had been a high intensity game with his team fighting to maintain their lead.
“If we had gotten that second goal it would have given us some breathing space,” he said.
“I think our team could have taken it to another level, but a wins and win and we will take the three points.”
The win continues a five-game winning streak for the club.
Following the victory Yoogali SC sit just one point behind Hanwood FC for the position of first place on the GDFA ladder with finals not too far away. The two teams will face off next Sunday.
