Paul DeMemiel cruised to a 9/1, 9/3 lead against Ian Carter, before Carter changed gears and levelled the match as he won the next two games 9/7,9/5. The scene was set for a thrilling finish but DeMamiel pulled out all stops and caught Carter off guard when he took the match 9/0.
Another super contest saw Tina Kirkman look comfortable when she took a 9/3 lead against Scott Mailler, but Mailler responded and won the second hand 10/9. Mailler appeared to have the match under control when he also took the third game 9/3. Kirkman had other ideas and won the fourth 10/8, then continued on her winning streak and snatched a 9/2 victory in the fifth.
In a low scoring encounter, Suburban defeated Chevrolet 13/12, where the best match saw Phil Priest defeat Mirco Gatti in four. Craig Dredge was on fire when he accounted for Robert Armanini in three.
Jeep scored a convincing win against Lexus, who have a full round left to improve their position from bottom of the ladder.
Matt Kirkman, Vince Staltare, Ryan Salvestro and Norma Spencer all notched up valuable wins for Jeep, while Steve Cunial was Lexus' only winner when he defeated Simon Fattore in four. Tomorrow the No. 1 players commence at 6.30pm and Infinity are in charge of snack attack. Following tomorrow round of matches, squash will go into a two week recess for the school holidays
