Riverina took a 1-0 lead into half-time and the side was good enough to consolidate that in the second half.
Strikes from Elijah Brooker and Benjamin Smith saw the Rhinos win 2-1.
The win kept the side within reach of the top two teams on the ladder in Sutherland and Gladesville Hornsby Football Association.
The Rhinos also won the under 13s and under 15s matches 2-1 and it looked like Riverina might take a clean sweep against the strong Sutherland association.
In the under 16s, the two sides came into the match in second – Riverina – and third – Sutherland – place respectively.
The match lived up to expectations and was just as close as the two sides are on the ladder.
Neither side were able to break the deadlock as the match ended in a nil-all draw and both Riverina and Sutherland retained their position on the ladder.
