After a stunning finish against the Yanco-Wamoon Hawks in round six, the Greens were out to regain momentum in what has become an exciting season.
From the start of the first half the Greens charged ahead, dominating the field and pushing Yenda clear out of the way. Leeton coach Brent Pike was pleased with the team’s overall effort.
“The first 25 minutes we came out of the blocks really good,” Pike said. “We completed our sets and got up by 32.”
The Blueheelers hit back and by the end of the first half they were starting to gain ground.
“In the last 15 (minutes) we just dropped our way,” Pike said. “We got so far in front and we thought we had the game won.”
However Yenda's push would not be able to match the Greens.
