Now that all the sides in the competition know what to expect from Yoogali SC, Santolin said his side would have to be better than ever to register a win on Sunday against Leeton United in Leeton.
“We’ve spoken about how we probably lost the element of surprise,” Santolin said.
“With the games we’ve won – we probably have a target on our back and teams are going to lift to try and beat us.
“We need to set new goals and come out firing to keep the top spot on the ladder.
“We don’t need to change anything, just improve and hopefully go to the next level.”
Last time Leeton and Yoogali SC met, the Yoogali side came away with a 4-2 win.
Santolin learned a lot from the first encounter with Leeton United and he’s making sure his players are on their toes this time around.
“They’re [Leeton United] a good team, we need to have the right mindset,” Santolin said.
“They will not roll over and we need to be at our best to win the game.
“That’s what we’ll be drumming into the team.”
Despite there being a general bye last week, several teams still played in either state cup matches or catch-up games.
A chunk of Yoogali SC’s first grade side dropped back to reserve grade who were short on numbers.
“Our over 35s went to Sydney and they usually make the bulk of our ressies side so about six of us (first graders) played,” Santolin said.
“We had a bit of a run – it was good to get the legs moving and stay sharp.”
The match starts at 3pm at the Leeton Sports Ground.
