The program, which promotes reading through book donations was looking for a new slogan to replace their current ‘reading is deadly’ one.
Out of hundreds of entrants, Clancy Amour-Banfield, Marley Tafili and Leah Adnun’s answers were selected in the final 25.
Although the school didn’t keep a record of what the students’ answers were, Marley had no problem remembering her slogan.
“Reading is exploring,” she said. Short and sweet.
One of the school’s teachers, Denise McGann, was extremely proud of the efforts of the year one students.
“Reading is so important for students at a young age,” she said.
“This program gets them interested in picking up a book.
“To have three students selected is a great achievement.”
