The 16 students will compete in rugby league, football and netball against the Parramatta, Sydney, Wollongong and Canberra/Goulburn dioceses with a chance to make the Mackillop sides.
Diocesan sports coordinator Bill Ross said the players from Griffith had as good a chance as any of the sides but it would be tough going.
“They’ve all got a chance but they are up against strong competition,” Ross said.
“You think of the size of Parramatta and Sydney’s dioceses – they have a big drawing area.”
