Nicholas Brighenti, Connor Lane and Alice Hutchinson have been selected from a recent band camp in Albury to go on a two week two of Europe as they represent the Riverina.
Coming out of the band camp was also Connor Anderson who will now have the chance to play in the state band.
While Alice Hutchinson has had the good fortune of being selected to go overseas before, this trip will be Nicholas’ (year 6) and Connor’s (year 11) first time.
“It's very daunting,” Connor said.
“I don’t think it’s really hit me yet.
“Yeah you can say you're going to Europe now, but when you get on the plane, that's when it will feel real.”
It’s not just a sight-seeing trip either.
The three musicians will travel to places like Salzburg, Vienna, Budapest and Prague as they do workshops and perform with other musical acts.
Connor said it was a bit of a shock.
“It's a bit of a surprise,” he said.
“But when you're one of the more senior people there and you come through the ranks, you're edging that bit closer.
“You fancy yourself, but you don't want to do it too much.
“You have to be confident and not cocky.”
