The property, being developed by Joss Group, will have 68 apartments.
When the complex opens in January 2017, there will be a number of ongoing full-time, part time and casual roles up for grabs.
Mayor John Dal Broi had a tour of the site on Thursday with Quest’s corporate development general manager James Shields, Joss Construction site manager Richard Stamp and Joss Construction project manager Shaun Deaton.
“Griffith is the perfect example of Quest’s promise to go where the corporate market needs its unique style of arpatment hotel accommodation,” Mr Shields said.
“The economic growth experienced in the area has been solid with strong future prospects.”
Mr Shields said Griffith’s contribution to Australian agriculture was extraordinary, with the city producing 75 perr cent of NSW’s wine grapes, 70 per cen tof NSW’s citrus and 90 per cent of Australia’s rice.
“The region’s wine industry is booming, exporting over $800 million of wine per year,” he said.
“Tourism in the area is also rapidly expanding, with a strong focus on business travel.”
Mr Shields said Griffith was the central hub of the Riverina region, accommodating all major health, retail, banking and education services.
“Quest Griffith’s location provides guests with easy access to key business and industrial centres as well as the Banna Street retail strip, council chambers, TAFE NSW and Griffith Base Hospital.”
Joss Construction senior project manager Brett McLellan said the company was thrilled to be involved in the development.
“We believe it is ideally positioned within the heart of Griffith and that the design takes full advantage of its proximity to the Memorial Gardens and will enhance the street’s character,” Mr McLellan said.
“We have high expectations that once complete, the facility will operate with great success and will invigorate other local business by attracting outside business and tourists.”
