This is in part thanks to the Griffith Country Education Fund (CEF) which last week announced the grant recipients for 2016.
One of the recipients was Jenna McCann who said she appreciated the time and effort put in by the members of the CEF.
“Thank you to everyone involved in the interviews and organisation of everything,” she said.
“I'm very grateful and hopefully I'll spend it well.”
Committee member Craig O'Keeffe said it was a privilege to be able help these students with their education.
“In years gone we've had kids that have come from very tough situations and really struggled hard,” he said.
“It really gets you feeling that you've done something worth while.”
Anthony Nehme was another person who liked what he’d seen from the students.
“I had the pleasure of helping out with the interviews this year and I have to say it's a great feeling to see all these bright young students of Griffith,” he said. “All I could say to them is to enjoy it and hopefully they do well.”
