35 games were played over the weekend as Griffith played host to Leeton, Narrandera, West Wyalong and Cootamundra Associations.
The weekend is a chance for local juniors to blow the cobwebs out before the Western Junior League starts.
Griffith Junior Demons this year will field a record nine sides in the event with the under 14 boys submitting two sides in the competition.
The gala presentation was also used to get the region’s referees through the requirements set by BNSW.
League head referee administrator Ross Winfeild was on hand to help with the new rule changes.
By the end of the day, the region had met the requirements and the local associations are ready for the season. Griffith has enjoyed an increase in numbers over the past few years and look forward to players taking to the local courts.
The local competition registration days for both the junior and senior players will be taken on Thursday, February 18 and 25 from 5pm for the autumn/winter competitions.
Players fees must be accompanied with the registration forms. If you have outstanding fees from the 2015 season you must pay these prior to registering for the 2016 season.
