The meeting labelled Kings and Queens was a success with the Griffith club featuring amongst the top results. Junior rider Butcher won the 85cc class on his new bike and Lee won the pre-78 class before he came second in the pre-90.
Gras came third in the over 45 on his son’s bike and second in the pre-78 while Virago fell in the changing conditions on Sunday after some fine rides on Saturday.
Hampel struggled on his 250 against the open class bikes on the fast circuit and Watts blew his side-car up in spectacular fashion with a con-rod through the front of motor.
The Griffith club has some great racing coming up with practice days scheduled for February 21, March 6, April 3 and May 22. The practice days offer an opportunity to tune and set-up motorcycles and lunch is catered for at the track.
