Yenda batted first and were under the pump from the get-go.

Alex Flood (5-32) and captain Haydn Pascoe (2-25) chipped away at the top order before a two-wicket first over from Mark Burns left Yenda at 6-19. Staines (73) and Matt Bruce (22) came to the crease and brought life back into the game.

It was lucky number seven for Coro as they finally held onto a Staines catch off the bowling of Sam Bryant (1-1).

Flood caused havoc as Yenda were all out for 130.

The Cougars got off to a jittery start and found themselves 3-37.

Pascoe (30*) and Tom Valeri (53*) steadied the ship to take out the seven-wicket win.

This was Valeri’s sixth half-century of the season.

Pascoe said his side’s fielding needed improvement.

“It was a bit of a low fielding wise,” he said.

“We started off well but in that middle stage we just slacked off a bit. You have to get people to training, it all starts at training.”

He said Valeri’s batting was crucial to the team.

“It's good batting with him, it takes a lot of pressure off me because you can bat around him.”
