Twenty-seven hours later they found out what their ATAR scores were and they produced some stellar marks.
It was a nervous wait as they logged onto the Board of Studies website, even for the best and brightest, as Josh Foley would attest to.
“I was shaking, I was making sandwiches for work and my hands were shaking and I almost cut my fingers off,” he said.
“Once I got it there was really no feeling like it, it was quite incredible, I woke my whole family up.”
He finished with an ATAR of 93.45 and has the goal to study a pre-medicine or medical science degree.
His fellow graduate Nathan Snaidero needed some extra assistance to find out his results.
“On Wednesday mum had to wake me up because I slept through my alarm,” he said.
“When I did get the results I was pretty ecstatic, it was a good feeling.”
Nathan received an ATAR of 93.95 and has plans to take a gap year in 2016 and head to uni the following year.
Sklya Eardley wasn’t as dependent on her ATAR score, but that didn’t stop her from garnering impressive results.
“I’m going straight into it next year with a Dean’s Scholar at the University of Wollongong,” she said.
“I’m doing arts so it’s more dependant on the interview, portfolio and exemplary artwork as opposed to ATAR, so I haven’t checked it yet.”
Emma Seton had a smile from ear to ear when she saw her 97.15 ATAR sitting in front of her.
“With the tests I was really prepared,” she said.
“When I saw my results I was relieved because I was very nervous at the time.”
She’s hopeful to study medical science at Sydney Uni next year.
Kieran Turnell continued the trend of pre-results nervousness.
“I wasn't overly confident after the exams, but at the same time still quite comfortable with it,” he said.
He finished with a 93.55 ATAR and has an eye on a degree in law and business.
