The extra luggage consisted of the bronze and gold medals she picked up at the event.
Trimboli picked up a bronze in the bathing suit beauties section before she was crowned Ms Olympia Sports Model Champion Novice.
The hard work had paid off for the Griffith native after overcoming some opening day jitters.
“That first day I was a bit nervous when I won the bronze,” Trimboli said.
“It was the world stage, everything was different, but the next day it was like I got into my zone.
“The more you (compete) the better you feel.
“I was like ‘I'm going to win tomorrow’ and I did.”
After being named in the top three, the fitness model was ecstatic.
Upon the realisation that she had won, Trimboli was nearly completely overcome with emotion.
She kept it together on stage as the months of training and hard work finally paid off.
Trimboli said that a lot of people didn’t realise the strain that competitors put on their body.
The mental toll is tremendous and the physical toll was compounded in Las Vegas as America does prejudging as well as the main show.
“Australia doesn't do prejudging and we had to do the whole thing over again at night,” Trimboli said.
“It was like I had to do four shows in two days.
“I did the morning, stopped, went back to the hotel, came back and had to start all over again at 6pm at night.”
Trimboli’s days started at 5am at the tournament and wouldn’t finish until late into the night.
Through the shows she had to do continually put her body into a range of positions that tired her out enormously.
Trimboli said she couldn’t have done it without her trainer, Stefan Ianev.
She also thanked her family for their support, as well as the wider Griffith community.
