Blue won the toss and batted first on a perfect wicket with a fast outfield.
Kyle Bennett and Aditha Jayasuriya got their side off to a great start with an opening partnership that only ended when Kyle retired for 36.
Aditha was dismissed with the score at 62, but the runs continued to tick over thanks to a hard-hitting 25 from Harry Rowston, who helped Blue to an imposing 8-155.
Henry Lacey was Red’s most effective bowler with 1-5 off four overs.
In reply, Red lost its first wicket on 18 when Hayden Forner took a good catch to dismiss Jack Hutchison.
Angus and Oliver Bartter then put together a handy 40-run partnership before Angus went for 15. Oliver retired on 35, but twin brother Tom then took over and punished anything loose.
Rohan Lacey lost his wicket for 14 to make it 3-127 before Tom retired on 36.
Wickets then started to tumble for Red, who lost 4-0 with the score on 151. Sean Culgan starred with the ball to claim 3-1 in one over.
With the game in the balance, Tom and Oliver Bartter returned to the crease and got Red over the line.
Sean Culgan finished with 3-23, while Sam Payne bowled tidily to pick up 2-1.
Griffith host Wagga next week in the first round of the Warren Smith Cup, Geoff Lawson Cup and Derek Rogers Cup.
