SOME people will go to extraordinary lengths to catch the attention of their idols.
Brenda Zandona, better known around town as Brenda from Yenda, is one of them.
She has put her artistic talents to good use for an online competition, which asks people to send in a photo containing the words "there will be love" for a chance to win a Maton ukulele.
Country music star Adam Brand will travel to the winner's place of residence to award the prize in person, and provide a ukulele lesson.
The self-confessed Brand fanatic said her handiwork along the Gordon Avenue side of her parents' fence had attracted a lot of attention from locals.
"There Will Be Love is the title of his latest CD and I'm a huge supporter," Mrs Zandona said.
"I actually run his official Team Brandwagon fan page. I just love his music and the fact that he is such a down-to-earth bloke.
"You walk into a room feeling like a fan, but by the time you leave he makes you feel like a friend.
"We lost 90 per cent in the floods. He was in Griffith over Easter and he had a look out at Yenda and the damage."
The fence and its new paintwork have come as a surprise to plenty of locals, but no one was more stunned than Mrs Zandona's mother Maureen Scott.
"My first thought was that someone had put graffiti on it, but once I saw the words properly I knew what it was," Mrs Scott said.
"We've had people yell out to us and ask what it's all about. The postie nearly ran into something reading it the other day.
"We all love Adam, so we think it's worth it."
