Ms Baird said she was grateful to receive the recognition, although admitted it took a while for it all to sink in.

“I just did what I thought I needed to so I could do my best within the course,” she said.

“Through it all you had to do a lot of compulsory ‘pracs’ which was fantastic for me because you think 'oh wow, I can actually use this is real life’.”

She said she was still unsure of what her future held.

“I just completed my Certificate Three of Business at Tafe,” she said.

“I'm just going to take a step back to figure out what my next move will be, whether I want to study more or work.”
