After losing the major semi-final the previous week, Baccarat were on a mission to make the grand final, but the fast-finishing Bingo put in an amazing effort to win four rubbers to two to set up a showdown with Poker in Tuesday night's decider.
Kirsty Jensen had to put in her best effort against newcomer Ray Holu, who is improving at a rapid pace and only went down 10-8 in the fifth game against his more experienced rival.
Another marathon saw Anthony Ippoliti snatch victory in the fifth game against Andrew Rowe to level the ledger, but wins to Graham Foley, Ian Carter and Mirco Gatti put the result beyond doubt.
Match of the night saw Paul DeMamiel stretch Graham Foley to five games before Foley won the match. The contest between the No.1s had no bearing on the result other than to keep the minor premier's score respectable when Pete Centofanti accounted for Luke Kirkman in four.
Tuesday night’s games will be followed by presentations and supper. Players are reminded that nominations for the spring competition will be taken from 6.30pm.
