Yoogali FC didn’t help themselves by having two players red carded.
Wests’ first goal came at the 30-minute mark when they were awarded a corner.
Karim Moursi played a ball in along the ground before teammate Damon Mazzarolo and Yoogali FC’s Tuimasi Manuca clashed.
Mazzarolo managed to keep his feet and shot from a sharp angle.
The ball ricocheted off the post and fell perfectly for Stephen Frame, who slotted the goal to send the home crowd into a frenzy.
Twenty minutes into the second-half Yoogali FC’s Sitiveni Watkins received his second yellow card and was ejected from the match.
The send-off initially spurred on Yoogali FC as the match went up a gear.
A lofted through ball in the 70th minute from Patrick Lelasi found a flying Uraia Loki on the volley, but the connection was less than desirable and Wests keeper Mitchell Woods made an easy save.
Minutes later, Wests’ Joshua Lu laid one through to Moursi.
A Ben Watts slide tackle on Moursi wasn’t enough to stop the midfielder, who scored from close range.
Once again, Yoogali FC seemed to momentarily rise against adversity and went on the attack immediately.
A cross into the box saw Archie Watkins leap above the Wests defenders.
His header was hit with power, but the ball fizzed over the top of the bar.
Soon after Lu and Moursi connected again to create a chance. Yoogali FC goalkeeper Jone Ralulu came off his line in an attempt to clear the through ball, but Moursi got to it first to find the back of the net.
In a moment of madness, Ralulu then tackled Moursi to the ground.
Ralulu was sent off but made sure to apologise to Moursi before leaving the field.
Wests rubbed salt into the wounds when Moursi scored his second goal in the last minute of play.
Wests will take on Yoogali SC next week in the grand final qualifier.
