For the students at the Western Riverina Community College (WRCC), this rings true.
The WRCC will hold their ‘launch event/achievement and art show’ on Thursday as part of Adult Learners’ Week.
Vicki Stonestreet is one of many art students the college has and said she made a great decision to join up.
“When I joined three years ago I was new to town and I wanted to meet people, really wanted to get into art,” she said
“We’ve got a really good art teacher.
“He’ll come in and teach you little basic things and he doesn’t expect you to be the world-beater, but you also learn so much in the process.
“I’m even looking at other courses here because it’s so relaxed and friendly, you meet a lot of people and you have a lot of fun,” Mrs Stonestreet said.
Denise Koke is enrolled in the ‘pathway to employment and training’ course and said it’s a way of getting back into the work force.
“I’ve got seven kids and I’ve been out of work for a fair while and I thought this gives me the opportunity to do a little bit and broaden my horizons,” she said.
“I’d really like to get a job later on in disability, so this is a step towards that.
