The event will be held at Ardlethan Hall on August 20 from 9.00am and will conclude at 1.00pm, with catering provided.
It will provide an opportunity for growers and advisers to learn from and network with leading industry professionals.
GRDC southern regional panel chair Keith Pengilley says the Farm Business Update will feature a line-up of expert speakers who will provide advice on a number of issues that have an impact on the bottom line.
“It is important that grain growers and their advisers have a good understanding of the business side of primary production so they have the capacity to maximise their profitability,” Mr Pengilley said.
The Farm Business Updates are an initiative of the GRDC southern regional panel and since their inception they have played a successful role in enhancing growers’ knowledge and understanding of farm business issues.
The program will be opened by Basil Doonan from Macquarie Franklin who will discuss the skills and approaches needed for successful farming systems.
Mike Krause from P2PAgri will detail farm business management tools to help measure business performance, while John Francis from Holmes Sackett will look at farm expansion and the enterprise mix.
Ian Ware from APA Sound will provide advice on how to get the farm digitally ready and how working together can increase connectivity.
