In the lead up to last night’s performance he spoke about his journey up to this point.
He said being up on stage just “felt right.”
“You have such an adrenalin rush because you want to give it your all and you want to show the crowd that this is who you are,” he said.
“If you can't make people connect with you then there's really no point because that's what it's all about.”
He said it would probably feel a bit different performing live, knowing that the whole country was watching right that second.
“You’re aware of the millions of viewers,” he said.
“But it comes down to how you want to carry yourself and just trying to give it your all.”
He said he just had to make sure nerves don’t get the best of him.
“Of course it's nerve-racking but at the end of the day that's what I want to be doing so there's no point getting worried.”
